Welcome to Roaring Birth
Welcome, I am so glad you are here. Roaring Birth was created to provide families with compassionate, professional, and deeply supportive care through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. This work is more than a service, it is a calling rooted in respect for the birthing process and the strength of every mother. My goal is to offer evidence-based guidance, emotional support, and a calm, judgment-free presence so you can feel confident, informed, and truly cared for. Whether you are preparing for birth, looking for childbirth education, or seeking nurturing postpartum support, Roaring Birth exists to walk beside you through this powerful transition into parenthood.
About Me
My name is Mirjam, and I am a labor and postpartum doula and childbirth educator based in the Novi area. I am also a proud mother of four and originally from Germany, where I welcomed all of my children. In Germany, postpartum care is an essential part of maternal health. Midwives visit daily, offering hands-on newborn guidance, healing support, and steady reassurance inside the home. When I moved to the United States in 2022 and experienced how limited postpartum care can be, I was truly stunned, and I knew immediately that I wanted to help fill that gap for families.
That calling led me to train as a labor and postpartum doula and begin serving families in January 2023. After gaining meaningful experience with a doula agency, I opened my own independent practice so I could provide more personal, flexible, and supportive care. Today, I serve families throughout the Novi area who are seeking a warm, knowledgeable, and compassionate presence during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
If you are looking for a doula who leads with heart, experience, and genuine care, I would be honored to walk beside you on your journey into motherhood.

Birth Doula Support
Birth support begins long before labor. I offer calm, grounded guidance throughout pregnancy so you can enter birth feeling prepared and supported. From understanding choices to creating a birth plan that reflects your values, I’m here with steady reassurance. During labor, I provide continuous comfort, presence, and care so you never feel alone. My goal is to help you move through every stage with confidence, trust, and a deep sense of safety.

Postpartum Care
The early days at home can feel tender and overwhelming. I bring gentle, nurturing support that helps you settle in with your new baby at your own pace. Whether you need practical guidance, emotional reassurance, or simply a calm presence, I’m there to help. My postpartum care focuses on rest, bonding, and easing the transition into your new chapter. You deserve to feel held, understood, and supported as you find your rhythm.

FAQ
Do you also support cesarean births?
Yes! Regardless whether you are planning a cesarean birth or an unplanned c-section is needed, I will provide support. I will be with you before you go to the OR and I will be right there in the recovery room where you will finally get to snuggle your baby. While you are still in the OR, I will make sure your partner gets valuable skin-to-skin time with baby. If desired, I will support you with the first latch right there in the recovery room to set you all up for the best start on your breastfeeding journey.
Do you have a backup doula and will we get the chance to meet them?
Yes, I do have backup in place. You will have the opportunity to meet them - at least virtually.
When do you go on call for your clients?
Due dates are always to be considered rough estimates. I “actively” go on call once you hit 37 weeks all the way until you meet your precious baby. However, if you go into labor prematurely or you have to be induced early, I will attend your birth regardless. Once you are under contract with me, I have your back. I will be at your chosen birth location no later than 2 hours after you give me the call.
I am afraid that a doula might interfere with the role that my partner plays during the labor and birth of our baby. How do you navigate that?
In no way will I take the place of your birth partner during your labor! I am there to offer emotional and physical support and to make sure that you, as a team, make informed decisions along the way. I will be the calm in the storm when things get overwhelming, but you will always get to lean on your partner, your rock, your safe place.
If women are deeply connected to their partner, their body is primed to release oxytocin, also known as the “love hormone” and the main driver of labor! Oxytocin stimulates contractions, acts as a natural pain reliever, and fosters bonding.
The presence of a loving and supportive partner, their touch, their affirmation can help you stay in a calm, safe state. I will teach your birth partner physical support measures if desired, and guide them to support you to the best of their abilities. I am very respectful of the sanctity of birth and will always give you two space to take everything in.
How long will you stay after baby is born?
No matter how you bring your baby into this world, I will stay with you for however long it takes until you are all settled in and everyone is calm and stable. I believe in the importance of the Golden Hour and a timely first latch. If all goes well, I typically see myself out about 1.5 to 2 hours after baby has been born.
Are you also a lactation consultant?
No, I am not. However, I personally have more than 10 years of experience breastfeeding my own children and I have successfully supported many clients on their journey to breastfeeding their babies, including premature babies who’ve spent some time in the NICU, and babies with tongue or lip ties. I do partner with talented lactation consultants, who I can refer you to if additional support is needed.
